Matter Devices with Bluetooth

Bluetooth isn’t used for ongoing communication between Matter devices, but it plays an important role during device setup. When adding a new Matter device to your smart home, Bluetooth is often used to help your phone or controller discover the device nearby and securely transfer network credentials. After setup, the device switches to Thread, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet for regular communication.
