IKEA Matter Smart Home Range Arrives in Singapore: What You Can Buy Right Now

IKEA launches new smart home range with 21 Matter-compatible products

While Singapore (and much of the internet) was busy obsessing over IKEA’s DJUNGELSKOG orangutan, the viral surrogate “Ora-Mama” for Punch the macaque, IKEA Singapore has quietly begun stocking the first batch of IKEA Matter smart home devices.

The Swedish flatpack giant announced in November 2025 that it would launch 21 new smart home products focusing on lighting, sensors, and control, as it transitions its smart home lineup to the Matter smart home standard. The new lineup will replace IKEA’s existing smart home range built on the Zigbee protocol.

The shift to Matter marks a major change for IKEA’s smart home strategy, moving away from its long-running Zigbee ecosystem toward a more open standard that works across multiple platforms.

Thanks to Matter’s Multi-Admin feature, the new devices can be added to multiple smart home ecosystems simultaneously, including Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.

IKEA Matter devices available in Singapore

IKEA Singapore currently offers three Matter-compatible devices: a temperature and humidity sensor, an air quality monitor, and a dual-button remote.

TIMMERFLOTTE Temperature and Humidity Sensor

A battery-powered sensor that monitors indoor temperature and humidity in real-time. Tap the front display to cycle between the two readings. Works as a standalone device without a smart system, or pairs with the IKEA Home smart system or any Matter-certified ecosystem via Thread. Runs on two AAA batteries. Priced at $12.90 SGD.

ALPSTUGA Air Quality Sensor

A sensor that tracks four indoor air quality indicators: carbon dioxide (CO₂), fine particles (PM2.5), temperature, and humidity. All readings are displayed on a built-in screen alongside a clock. A warning LED lights up when CO₂ or PM2.5 levels exceed recommended thresholds. As a mains-powered device, it also functions as a Thread router, helping to extend the range of a Thread mesh network. Works as a standalone monitor or pairs with the IKEA Home smart system and any Matter-certified ecosystem. Priced at $39.90 SGD.

BILRESA Remote Control with Dual Button

A simple way to control smart products from afar. Use it to switch lights on or off, adjust brightness, change colour, or trigger a preset scene. Each button supports single, double, and long-press. Can be paired with the IKEA Home smart system, any Matter-certified ecosystem via Thread, or directly with an IKEA smart product without a hub. Runs on two AAA batteries. Priced at $8.90 SGD.

Product Availability

If you’re planning to pick up these new devices for yourself, do note that not all branches may have them in stock at the same time. When I visited IKEA Jurong in mid-March, they only had the BILRESA remote in stock, while the Tampines and Alexandra branches already had the TIMMERFLOTTE, ALPSTUGA, and BILRESA. The products are not yet available on IKEA Singapore’s website, but expect them to be updated soon.

Given that this is the first batch of the new smart home products, IKEA Singapore is expected to release more Matter devices in the coming weeks. I’ll be keeping an eye out for new products and will update this post as they arrive.

What about your existing IKEA Zigbee devices?

For those with existing IKEA non-Matter (Zigbee) smart home devices, you may be wondering whether those devices will stop working and need to be replaced. Fortunately, the answer is no. If you use the IKEA DIRIGERA hub, which functions as a Matter Bridge, you will be able to continue using your existing IKEA Zigbee devices in Matter-compatible ecosystems, including Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.

With the arrival of these new Matter over Thread devices, smart home enthusiasts in Singapore can look forward to building a truly open smart home, one where devices from different brands work together seamlessly, at prices that won’t break the bank.
